🔍 How to Get Your Factory ID
- Turn off your QRZ-1 radio completely
- Press and hold both the "4" button and "MENU" button
- While holding both buttons, power on the radio
- An 8-character "Factory ID" will be displayed on the screen
⚠️ Warning: A new Factory ID may be generated if you power off the radio or leave this screen. Do not waste your token by powering off the radio after generating an unlock code for this Factory ID.

Q: What is a Factory ID?
The Factory ID is a unique 8-character code that your radio generates when requesting an unlock code. The Factory ID may change if requested more than once. It is important to enter the unlock code BEFORE leaving this screen, otherwise your token may be wasted and you will have to purchase another token to generate another unlock code.
Q: Can I use my token more than once?
No. Each token is valid for a single use only. Once you generate an unlock code, the token is consumed and cannot be reused. If you need multiple unlock codes, you will need to purchase additional tokens.
Q: What if I lost my unlock code?
If email notifications are enabled, a copy of your unlock code will be automatically sent to the email address you provided. Check your email inbox (and spam folder) for the unlock code. If you can't find the email and your token has already been used, you will need to contact GigaParts customer service to purchase a new token.
Q: I'm getting a "Token not found" error. What should I do?
This error means either: (1) the token was already used, (2) the token was entered incorrectly, or (3) the token is not valid. Double-check that you entered the token exactly as provided. Tokens are not case-sensitive but must be 8 characters. Contact GigaParts support if the problem persists.
Q: The unlock code isn't working on my radio. What should I do?
Make sure you: (1) Entered the correct Factory ID, (2) Are using the correct button mappings for letters (A=MENU, B=DOWN, C=UP, D=A/B, E=*, F=#), and (3) Entered all 8 characters of the unlock code. If it still doesn't work, contact GigaParts technical support.
Q: Is this modification legal?
MARS (Military Auxiliary Radio System) modifications are legal for authorized MARS operators. This modification is intended for licensed operators who are authorized to use expanded frequency ranges. Ensure you have proper authorization before using this modification.
